Machine precision interacting with unpredictable, imprecise medium. The machine has no knowledge or understanding of the paint. The color, mixing and positioning of paint is done by hand, attempting to influence the point of precision and imprecision meeting. The pattern itself is created from a generative process, creating thousands of patterns through code which are manually filtered, looking for the interplay of the perceivable pattern and the unperceived future interaction with paint.

With reference to the 3 principles of the automative revolution (time, error and freeing humans for higher thought). The work is efficient and laborious, Precise and error prone, Higher order and manual craft. Most importantly there is no attempt to remove the human, it is human centred.
